Culture Centre in the Kunstkulturquartier, Nuremberg
The Tafelhalle has been founded as a screw factory in 1876 and belonged to an iron manufactory. More than 100 years later, in 1987 the city of Nuremberg turned it into a venue for the local dance, theater and music sence aiming to support the artists and create stronger connections between them. As a co-producer, the Tafelhalle offers performance opportunities to emerging artists as well as established choreographers, directors and dancers. It also initiates interdisciplinary projects and new event formats for Nuremberg. In addition, the venue hosts renowned guest performances, top-class international concerts (from jazz to pop to classical music) and recognized festivals such as the International Puppet Theater Festival, the European Children’s Theater Festival “Panoptikum” and the Turkish-German Film Festival.
The Tafelhalle is co-organizer of the Dance Platform Germany.
